The start of the year has not been uneventful for the Rice Hyperloop team. On January 11th, we submitted our Final Design Package (FDP) to SpaceX. This 100+ page document described the specifics of our design in detail. The team worked tirelessly every night of the first week of classes to get the FDP completed for the deadline. The team is now waiting to hear back from SpaceX on who made it to the next round, the finals in California.
For now, the team will begin to prototype the designs and start preliminary testing. The full pod will be built around May 2019. From there, final testing will begin in preparation for the competition.
