This past month has all been about focusing on the Final Design Package (FDP). After hearing that the team was one of 52 to make it onto the next round, all efforts have been focused on finalizing design specifications. The FDP is an iteration of the preliminary design package, submitted in November. It goes into further detail about each subsystem and contains plans for the logistics of the competition. The team will be working tirelessly over winter break to get the FDP ready for submission in the new year.
Our propulsion team began testing of their cold gas thruster system this month. They developed an initial testing rig and did one trial run before the break to get some initial data about the system and where they can make improvements. Check out the picture of their test below:
